Geo Pins

It's a whole new way to organize project materials by location. Drag and drop the file shortcuts from your desktop onto maps and photos. Keep track of the documents as part of your map portfolio. Works with photos from your digital camera, web sites, office documents, real estate listings, CAD drawings, and most other PC files.

Seamless or with Borders

Scroll seamlessly from map to map, or photo to photo in 2D or 3D. This feature lets you mosaic multiple maps or aerial photos on one printout. You can also view and print individual topo maps, complete with full border and legend ("collar") information.

Elevations and Profiles

View and print cross-sections profiles with the latest high-resolution digital elevation data. It's as simple as drawing a line and clicking a toolbar button! Quickly create line-of-site analysis graphs. You can even type-in tower height offsets.

GeoTips & Labels

Mouse-over maps or aerial photos to quickly determine a street name, address, coordinate position, elevation, grade, length, or area. GeoTips can also be placed as labels to quickly annotate a map or aerial photo.

Customize Your Maps

Customize your maps with labels, mark symbols, lines, area fills, range-rings, and notes. Includes lots of GPS waypoint, route and track drawing features. A powerful "auto-text" feature lets you instantly annotate a map or photo with labels containing street name, address, coordinates, elevation, grade, length or area.

USGS Topos

USGS topo maps are the recognized standard for off-road navigation. Maptech scans official paper maps to produce clear and detailed images of all 58,000+ USGS maps. Each continental US disc contains up to 300 quads in two scales: 1:24/25,000 (7.5 minute series) and 1:100,000 scale. Alaska discs contain 1:63,360 and 1:250,000 scale topo maps only.

Aerial Photos Via Internet (Subscription Included)

Use aerial photos the same way you use topo maps. All the mapping tools work with both. Maptech's Internet servers store 1 meter resolution photos covering nearly 100% of the lower 48 states. Many of these 1 meter photos are color and in most urban areas imagery is available at sub-meter resolutions.

2D and 3D Views

Bring maps and photos to life in 3D. Simple navigation buttons let you rotate the view, exaggerate relief, even add special effects, such as fog or moonlight. You have the option of putting 2D and 3D side-by-side. Great for project planning and visual impact assessment.

Dynamic Street Addresses

As you move the cursor over maps or photos it displays street addresses. Click on streets or structures to add custom address labels. You can search for maps and locations by typing in an address.

Google™ Earth Interface Window

A new feature added to terrain navigator Pro 8.0 is a built-in interface window to display Google™ Earth. TNP will open Google™ Earth within the program and allow users to simultaneously scroll and view USGS topos next to Google™ Earth images. TNP 8.0 also makes it easy to import marks, labels and more from TNP into Google™ Earth. This popular aerial photo site can now provide you with one more unique tool that TNP can provide to help make you more productive.
